Above The Line Leader - Anti-Isolation League - Advisory Groups - Connections

As a Leader, Have You Ever:

Continued to be stuck in your life,
despite being successful “at work”?

Felt isolated even though you
are surrounded by people?

Struggled with stewarding your health
(physical, spiritual and mental wellness)?

Lacked clarity about how to live the inspired life
God has for you?

It’s Time to

Transform Your Self-Leadership

What is an Anti-Isolation Advisory Group?

If you are like most leaders, you don’t have anyone to talk to about the struggles of being in leadership.

And ultimately that affects your ability to show up for your family, friends, and yourself.

That’s why we created the Anti-Isolation League (Advisory Groups).

An Advisory Group is two fold:

1. a small group of leaders, one for men and another for women; that meet twice a week to share advice, encouragement, accountability, and prayer

2. a larger combined community with ongoing access to one another throughout the week

Each small group is faciliated by an Above The Line Leader Coach who guides the conversation – but the value comes from the relationships you build and the advice and perspective of your fellow leaders as we combat isolation and leading ourselves well, together!

Is an Anti-Isolation League Group
Right for Me?

(Advisory Group)

An Advisory Group is NOT:

  • 1:1 Coaching
  • Directionless Discussion
  • Only in-person events
  • Industry Specific
  • Come and go as you please

Who can join an Anti-Isolation League Advisory Group?

Advisory Groups are for leaders who are ready to do whatever it takes to defeat isloation; whether preventivly or even if you are in the midst of battle. You want to improve and have a willingness to give and receive advice.

When do Advisory Groups begin?

When you sign up for the Anti-Isolation League, you’ll be given information on the exact date and time for when your group kicks off.

How many people are in each Advisory Group?

We keep groups relatively small, around 8-12 people. We’ve found this the ideal size to foster connection and make sure everyone has a chance to participate.

Who will be in my Advisory Group?
Leaders are placed into small groups based on several common factors; whether you are a man or a woman in leadership (in order to provide an optimal environment for conversation), additionally we may consider other items such as how long you have been in leadership, whether you own your own business or are a leader within another company, and team size.
Why are the smaller Advisory Groups separated by male and female but the larger community is coed?

What we’ve found is that leaders, but people in general, are often more open with one another when a small group consistents of all men or all women. Especially about difficult conversations and sensitive topics.

That being said, we also recognize there is immense value in men and women interacting together. Men don’t only lead men and women don’t only lead women!

So we also have the larger joint community where everyone can interact with one another and help out across those situations that are universal or even specific to leading the opposite sex.

Will my Advisory Group consist of the same people every call?

Yes! An important weapon against isolation is connection and trust. Our aim is to keep groups consistent. So the people in your group will most likely stay the same throughout your commitment.

What type of industries are represented in Advisory Groups?

The Anti-Isolation League is industry agnostic. Leaders from every industry can benefit from an Advisory Group.

How often do Advisory Groups meet?

Advisory Groups meet twice a week.

Once for a brief 20 minute prayer meeting, usually on Sunday or early in the week to start strong and in the optimal frame.

And again during the week (usually Wednesday or Thursday) for ~1 hour in a hot-seat round robin style meeting for advice, encouragement, accountability, and further prayer if desired.

Don’t forget, that betwixt the smaller Advisory Groups, you will be a part of the larger Anti-Isolation League community that interacts, connections, and builds relationships throughout the week on your own frequency and schedule.

Where do Advisory Groups meet?
Advisory Groups are held virtually via Zoom.

We encourage members to connect outside of the scheduled meetings whether via your own Zoom meetings, in the community group, or in person if you are local to one another or when traveling.

In the future we anticipate have Above The Line Leader in person events.

What time of day do Advisory Groups meet?

Advisory Groups meet at various times through the day/week. Currently we anticipate the weekly prayer meeting for your small group to occur for ~20 minutes on Sunday evening or Monday mid-morning.

The mid-week meeting will be in the afternoon.

As more groups are launched, we will add more times/days. All time referrences are “eastern” time zone.

Now…

Are you already disqualifiying yourself because “those times don’t work for me…” excuses?

If that’s the conversation you are having with yourself right now I want you to:

P – Pause
A – Assess
D – Decide

Interrupt that thought pattern.

Ask yourself what is more important to you, defeating and preventing isolation in your life as a leader? Or coming up with narratives to stay stuck where you are at? What about others in the group? Could your presence help and be of value to them?

Then choose the answer that moves you closer to what you want.

Who will lead my Advisory Group?

Advisory Groups are led by an Above The Line Leader faciliator. These coaches foster an environment where the group can share advice, accountability and support while guiding conversation through the lens of Above The Line Leader and Anti-Isolation League principles.

What happens during an Advisory Group call?

During a typical Advisory Group call, everyone shares a win from the past week. Everyone also shares a challenge they’re dealing with in their leadership, and fellow Advisory Group members weigh in and offer perspective, ideas and advice. The call wraps up with everyone sharing what they plan to work on over the next week.

These calls last about an hour.

The prayer meeting calls usually last about 20 minutes and are an opportunity for us as leaders to connect spiritually. BECAUSE…isolation is a tactic of Satan and this is a spiritual war, not one of flesh and blood.

In the weekly prayer meeting we ask each leader to bring one praise and one petition. We then pray for one another as a group. We find this sets our week as leaders on the right path and acknowledges our Lord in this battle.

What about confidentiality?

When someone joins an Anti-Isolation League Advisory Group, they agree to keep information they hear on calls and within the larger community, confidential—and members take trust very seriously.
