Ideal Client Avatar

How well do you know your customers? What are their likes and dislikes? Where do they spend most of their time online and what types of content do they actually take the time to read?

As part of an Ideal Client Avatar you should know the answers to these questions without hesitation. If you don’t, your mobile marketing campaigns, and all of your marketing campaigns, are destined to fail.

Because, specifically to mobile marketing, your customer’s mobile attention span is extremely limited. They are bombarded throughout their day with push notifications from various apps, emails, social media notifications, chats and especially from mobile marketing messages sent by other brands they are loyal to.

So what would make them choose to open and read your message?

That’s what you need to know without a doubt so you can use that information to your advantage.

Here are four tips for custom engineering tantalizing mobile marketing campaigns:

  1. Evaluate Your Key Performance Indicators
Before you begin, you need to spend a significant amount of time evaluating your KPIs. Study your sales metrics.
    – Are there any increasing sales trends?
    – What does the sales data show you about your customers likes, dislikes, wants and needs?
    – What marketing action or specific campaign created the largest increase in sales or click-through rates?
    – Which customers make repeat purchases and why?Once you have studied all your sales metrics, you simply use what you’ve learned to custom engineer your mobile marketing campaigns. However, you don’t stop there. You must continually test and re-test those campaigns as you fine tune the data down to a science.

Never stop testing and tweaking! Trends and buying behaviors can change on a dime and you won’t know that unless you are continually testing and studying your marketing data.

  2. Genuine Respect Is Critical
There’s nothing worse than receiving spam messages. People feel violated and angered by spammers. Therefore, it’s imperative that you take the time to ask your customers permission to send them your marketing messages, aka, articles of interest, funny videos, coupons, discounts, newsletters and sales information. In the same way, request their permission to text them!Once you have that, make sure you are respecting their time and attention by only sending them suitable content at the right intervals. You need to be clear, concise and to the point.

The last thing you want is your customers having to read a novel just to get the main point of your SMS…know what is appropriate for text message marketing and what instead should be delivered via an email.

And, of course, you should always include a call to action. Even if it’s just an invitation to get more information from your website.

  3. Social Media And The Rules Of Engagement
If you’re not already, you should have a social media presence. Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn are all extremely important. Most mobile users utilize their device as a primary internet access source and social media mobile apps are an essential part of your mobile marketing campaigns. You need to be active across all platforms by starting conversations, encouraging your customers to engage with you by commenting and by asking questions or voicing their concerns.

This will give you the opportunity to build a rapport with them and turn them into loyal followers, who will then turn into loyal customers.

Here again, respect their time. At the point your content begins to build organic momentum, you will have passively grown your customer base without any extra effort on your part, and can maintain or or in some cases reduce paid advertising spend, and this is truly priceless!

  4. Customer Feedback Is The Icing On Your Cake
While all of the above is important, it’s all meaningless, if you don’t seek feedback from your customers.Request feedback in your emails or through a text and don’t forget about direct communication through commenting via your social media avenues as well.

Request feedback anytime you’ve implemented a new marketing strategy, whether it is a faster shipping option, limited time offers, a rewards program or anything else you’ve tried.
