Look, the fact is we have been brainwashed! I say we because I was a victim too.

We have heard the cliche so many times that you probably need to re-read the title of this post…because I bet your subconsious completed it incorrectly!

“If you want something done right, do it yourself”. Yep…that is what we have been told. But it is WRONG!

Two heads are better than one

The truth is that two heads are better than one! (That’s another cliche for you). In today’s literate global society, everyone is an expert at something.

You are an expert at something.

I am an expert at something.

Heck, we even give dogs awards for being experts in obedience. But no cats that I am aware of!

In large part your success is going to come from you not doing something yourself.

We have to erase the mentality that “if we want something done right we have to do it ourselves”. Do not think that way.

Success is a team sport!

You need to begin to outsource some of your work. I am not talking about the traditional view of outsourcing, although it is applicable here. Instead, I want you to adopt a new motto.

“If I want something done right, I need to involve someone else!”

That is a core component of success. Successful people realize that they need to involve someone else in order to help make sure something is done “right”.

What are some instances where you felt you needed to do something so that it was done “right” but you realized you were wrong? You realized it would have been better to involve someone else and their expertise.
