Are you interesting?
Dos Equis (the beer that has the commercials with “the most interesting man in the world”) would have you believe that you are not interesting. Which of us can live up to these attributes of “the most interesting man in the world”?
He’s fluent in all languages, including three that only he speaks.
Ghosts fear him.

Though he can’t walk on water he’s never slipped on ice.
This is ridiculas! No one can live up to these expectations. Oh, and you notice someting? It is all about him!

What if I told you there are people that are “the most interesting”? Marketwatch recently published an article describing the most interesting man in the information world. Al Lewis, the author, describes him as “revolutionary”.
He was reared in Mumbai.
He has a black belt in tae kwon do.
When he was a student, he single-handedly occupied the Reserve Bank of India and would not leave until its governor converted his rupees into dollars.
He came to the U.S. with only $50 in his pocket yet earned valuable degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Harvard University.
He marched into the offices of some of the most powerful executives in America, demanded their business and got it.
He wrote best-selling books.
He revolutionized industries.
He became a Silicon Valley billionaire.
You get the point. This person has done some extraordinary things. But so can you!
How to be Interesting
- Never give up
- What makes people interesting? When they never give up. When buildings are being bombed, the economy is in the toilet, and you just heard “the most interesting man in the world” found a short cut around you…never give up!
- Find your niche
- It is somewhere between your Why, What you are good at, and What drives your economic engine.
- Put yourself out there.
- Get up, get going, and do something! Anything, really…but preferably something within your niche. Then, hone your craft. Become great at what you do. Too many people settle with mediocrity. It is time for you to produce with excellence.
- Be generous.
- If it is all about you, no one will care. But if you make it all about others, then everyone will care. Being interesting and doing something extraordinary all come down to how generous you are with those that are in your world. Climbing Mount Everst is pretty extraodinary…but you can’t do it alone. So be generous and bring others along with you.
What are you going to do to be revolutionary?
What does your world say the reason that you are interesting is?
